Orange Tossed Salad

Serves 12

1 T sugar
1/2 cup slivered almonds
Put in fry pan and heat until sugar melts and coats almonds.
Continue stirring until a little brown. Pour onto waxed paper.

Toss these veggies:
1 head red or green leafy lettuce
1/4 med red onion- sliced in rings
1 (11 oz) can mandarin oranges, drained
1 jicama- cut in julliene

Use following dressing and the almond nuts on top.

1/2 t. orange peel- grated
1/3 c. orange juice
2 T. vinegar
1/2 c. oil
2 T sugar
1 T Good Seasons dry Italian dressing
