Apple Pudding

3 apples, grated
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. raisins
1 egg
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 tsp cinnamon

Mix all ingredients and bake in a 9x9 inch pan for 1 hour at 350 or until it tests done with a toothpick.
Serve with Caramel Sauce

OR you can use the dip recipe from my Grandma Hymas Carrot Pudding both are good.

Caramel Sauce:
1/2 c. sugar
Melt sugar in pan until golden in color.
Add:
2 c. water
Let boil until sugar is dissolved.
Mix:
1/2 c. sugar
2 T flour
Stir in to sugar/water and cook until thickened
Add:
1/2 c. butter
1 T vanilla
